READ 1 CHRONICLES 28:9–13
Many people, in society and the church alike, struggle to overcome issues such as addiction to pornography, substances, food, etc. How can the church and individual believers help those who battle addictions and other sinful habits as well as equip people to resist temptations?
One way to minister practically to each other is to form an accountability relationship. Such a pact can make a powerful difference in successfully avoiding the pitfalls of life.
“And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you” (1 Chronicles 28:9).
Christians need each other. Praying together and seeking God’s help provide strength to win spiritual battles. When you are accountable to another person, you know you must report your actions and thoughts. While you understand God already knows, yet He can use someone in the flesh to help keep you following His way.
Thought for Today: Count on accountability to aid in living a victorious life.
