BENEFITS OF HOLINESS

READ ROMANS 6:19–23

Some label the jackfruit as a miracle food that is both highly beneficial and useful. Weighing as much as one hundred pounds, this fruit can be cooked in stews, used as flavoring for ice cream, ground into flour, or used as a meat-free pulled pork substitute. Even its seeds and timber are useful. Providing a good source of protein, vitamins, and minerals, the jackfruit has many benefits. The benefits of living for God are far greater.

But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life (Romans 6:22).

Offering yourself to God gives you the ability to live in holiness. Through Him, you have the power to overcome sin and reflect the character of Jesus. The benefit of living for Him comes to maturity when one day you are able to spend eternity with your Lord and Savior.

Unlike the jackfruit, which is eaten once and then is gone, your relationship with God will yield fruit for

eternity.

Prayer Suggestion: Father, help me today to live in the freedom from sin that Your Son provided on the cross.
