“Do not fear, I have called you by name.”

The anchor of stability holds firm when our navigation system fails. We are facing intense adversity right now and we find it difficult to focus on anything other than it. It’s easy to lose our bearings when we panic. It’s hard to find our way at times like this and fear sets in. This was an unseen problem that has occurred. It wasn’t in the forecast.

In Luke’s words, All hope of being saved is abandoned (Acts 27:20). We find stability through Gods Word. Paul firmly announces, in verses 24-25 Be of good cheer we’ve heard from the Lord that none will be lost. Isaiah declared: But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you (Isaiah 43:1-2).

What encouraging words! “Do not fear, I have called you by name.” What a great thought! God is faithful. He promises, “I will be with you. He is our anchor.”

We serve a sovereign God who has yet to go “Ahh!” when He finds anything on this earth. Nothing frightens Him. Nothing causes Him to do a neck jerk. He’s in charge! We live “in the shelter of the Most High.” We “abide in the shadow of the Almighty” (Psalm 91:1). Nothing is too hard for Him! Nothing!”

Be an encouragement and give words of comfort to people who are having a hard time with this pandemic. We are praying for you.

Verse

“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” – Isaiah 43:1-2
