READ 1 CORINTHIANS 12:1–11
On Christmas morning, families often gather around the Christmas tree. Parents distribute the presents to the various family members. Each present has been purchased with the particular family member in mind. The recipients understand the love and thought that went into each gift.
The Holy Spirit is the distributor of gifts to the family of God. He knows each person intimately and has selected just the right gift for each person. No gift is better than another. They are just different. Each gift is a reflection of His love for the believer and for the Church.
All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines (1 Corinthians 12:11).
Each believer is unique in the Body of Christ. For the Church to function as God desires, He needs believers to embrace their gifts and to use them to minister to others. When all believers engage their gifts, the Church will be effective, believers will be fulfilled, and they will find their purpose.
Challenge for Today: Discover your spiritual gifts and use it to minister to others.
