READ JOEL 2:28-32
God does not forget His people. Israel suffered much in captivity, but God promised a time when He would pour out His Spirit upon His people.
“And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions (Joel 2:28).
On the Day of Pentecost, Peter addressed the masses of people drawn to the disciples by hearing God’s message being proclaimed in their native languages. He proclaimed that this event was the fulfillment of Joel’s prophecy. As a result, more than three thousand people turned to Christ.
Christians are still baptized in the Holy Spirit. This Baptism allows them to receive power to proclaim Christ to those still in sin and to serve as witnesses to God’s incredible love and grace. Every Christian should seek this promised outpouring God offers freely.
Thought for Today: The Holy Spirit will fill any believer with His presence and power when the person seeks to be filled by Him.
