READ JUDGES 7:1 THROUGH 8:35
After a movie ends, several minutes of film time remain when those who care can see a scrolling list of all the people involved in the making of the film. It isn’t the most entertaining, and most people don’t stay and watch it. But it is vital for the movie to give credit to those who made it possible.
The Lord said to Gideon, “You have too many men. I cannot deliver Midian into their hands, or Israel would boast against me, ‘My own strength has saved me’” (Judges 7:2).
God was concerned that the credit for the victory go to the right place. He didn’t want Israel to think it had done this. He wanted His people to know that the victory was His.
When God does something significant in your life, He wants the credit. When good things happen to you, when prayers are answered, or when difficulties are suddenly overcome, how do you respond?
God deserves the credit for all the good things He does in your life. Victory only comes through His power.
Prayer
Thank God for His victories in your life.
