READ 1 SAMUEL 21:15 THROUGH 24:22
As the missionary carried a large bag of food to the center of the village, many excited children began to follow. Most of the adults soon joined in. Some had physical disabilities, and several seemed frightened, but they all joined in the procession.
The village was suffering through a drought, and food had been scarce for several months. Many were desperate to get just a small portion to eat. With such little hope of survival, the missionary’s act of love endeared her to the villagers.
She offered them what they most needed, and they welcomed her into their tribe. She lived among them for many years, teaching them about the Bible and helping them.
Many people have experienced pain or rejection to the point of despair. Christians can offer them the hope and joy of the Bread of Life by telling them of God’s love and by showing them God’s love.
Prayer
May Your love shine through me today so I can be a blessing to others.
Verse
