READ MATTHEW 5:13–20
As the world sinks into ever-increasing darkness, have you wondered if you can do anything to change it? With hate on the rise, suicide rates increasing, and the lines between right and wrong disappearing, it may be tempting to run and hide. Instead, Christians need to realize who they are and courageously go where God guides them.
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house” (Matthew 5:14–15).
Unbelievers who are desperate to escape the world’s madness distract themselves with alcohol, drugs, and countless sinful pleasures. Sadly, those things only lead deeper into hopelessness.
It’s time to let hurting people know there is hope. Those who repent will be cleansed by the blood of Jesus. When God shines through His people, lost souls can be saved from despair, troubled minds can be comforted, and broken hearts can be healed.
Prayer Suggestion: Lord, lead me to those who desperately need Your light, and give me words to share the hope I’ve found in You.
