READ ACTS 10:44–48
Are there are people who are unworthy of God’s grace and mercy? Are there any groups or regions of the world that God disowns? Are there some people who just don’t deserve God’s blessings and salvation? Can anyone receive favor from God?
The disciples lived in a time period when the Jews did not consider Gentiles worthy to be God’s people. Most Jews rejected the Gentiles.
God made it clear that salvation and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit are available to everyone.
The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on Gentiles (Acts 10:45).
Peter had to explain to them that God generously offers His love, salvation, and power to all who are interested. The Baptism in the Holy Spirit was available to both Jews and Gentiles. This is a powerful message that God has for all people across the world.
Thought for Today: God wants to reach people in your community who are considered unworthy, extreme sinners, and the community outcasts.
