READ JOHN 7:32–39
The first responders had almost given up hope of finding the missing woman in the desert. A search helicopter combing the area spotted her and radioed the coordinates to them. Hurrying to that location, the rescuers found the woman barely conscious and severely dehydrated. They promptly began IV fluids to rehydrate the woman. In John 7, Jesus spoke of living water that would flow out from Christians to a spiritually thirsty world.
On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them” (John 7:37–38).
Jesus not only identified Himself as the source of living water, but also revealed that this living water would flow out of all who believe in Him.
This world suffers from severe spiritual dehydration. Sin brings intense emptiness and hopelessness that leave many seeing no way to find joy in life. Through Christ’s living water, the world can find the only true source of life.
Prayer Suggestion: Ask the Holy Spirit to let living water flow from your life.
