STIRRED BY THE SPIRIT

READ JUDGES 13:21–25

When face-to-face with the victims of human trafficking, most Christians are at least empathetic. Yet, a smaller group is also moved to act on the victims’ behalf. Throughout the world, these heroes are putting themselves at risk to help the plight of the victimized. These individuals are stirred from empathy to action.

The woman gave birth to a boy and named him Samson. He grew and the Lord blessed him, and the Spirit of the Lord began to stir him while he was in Mahaneh Dan, between Zorah and Eshtaol (Judges 13:24–25).

The Philistines ruled over the nation of Israel for a season and brought much suffering to the people. Out of their misery, Israel called out to God for deliverance. God empowered Samson with tremendous physical strength and used him to bring deliverance from this suffering.

The Holy Spirit also stirs Christians to action and empowers them to carry out His plan. Many today suffer from persecution, human trafficking, and other serious issues. They need the deliverance Christ brings them.

Prayer Suggestion: Ask the Lord to stir your heart with His call and mission.
