READ 1 CHRONICLES 4:1 THROUGH 6:81
When the armies of the tribes of Israel east of the Jordan went into battle, they had 44,760 skilled warriors. Scripture doesn’t reveal the size of the enemy force, but given that the Israelites took more than 100,000 enemies captive, it is clear they were massively outnumbered in battle.
The Bible tells us the reason for their victory against overwhelming odds.
They were helped in fighting them, and God delivered the Hagrites and all their allies into their hands, because they cried out to him during the battle. He answered their prayers, because they trusted in him (1 Chronicles 5:20).
In the midst of the battle, the warriors let out a battle cry to the Lord, and God fought for them to bring about the victory.
When Christians go through battles facing overwhelming odds, it’s never too late to cry out to God. Even in the middle of the fight, He will hear your prayers and respond. Your battle cry can move God to unleash the armies of heaven and turn the tide of the battle.
Prayer:
Shout your battle cry to the Lord.
