THE INNER EVIDENCE

READ GALATIANS 5:16–25

A nice golf shirt and pack of new golf balls can make a person appear to be a good golfer. However, it becomes obvious that the golfer isn’t very good after he puts a few balls into the water, chips over a green, or four-putts for a triple bogey.

The outer appearance looks like a good golfer. The actual round of golf tells the real story.

This is an unfortunate comparison for a lot of Christians. They may wear Christian T-shirts and attend church on Sunday, but the rest of the week their lives do not reflect God’s work in their lives.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Galatians 5:22–23).

Take time to examine yourself. Is there evidence of God’s Spirit at work in your life? As you mature in your faith, you should be producing the right kinds of fruit.

Prayer Suggestion: Ask God to help develop His character in all areas of your life.
