READ EPHESIANS 1:15–23
Harvey knew Pastor Alan had been working on a degree in world literature shortly before becoming a Christian and asked him, “So you had never read the Bible before you were twenty-one, and studying the Bible made you become a Christian?”
“That’s part of the story,” replied Pastor Alan. “As I read, God was drawing me to Himself by the Holy Spirit. And after I accepted Christ, my Bible study came alive as the Holy Spirit helped me understand what I was reading.
I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better (Ephesians 1:17).
The spiritual darkness of this world often keeps people from fully understanding God’s Word and knowing Him in a deeper way. The apostle Paul prayed that God would help the Ephesian believers grow in their walk with Him, through the wisdom and revelation given by the Holy Spirit. Ask God to do the same thing for you, and open yourself to the ministry of the Holy Spirit.
Prayer Suggestion: Father, help me to know You better each day.
