TRANSFORMATION

READ ROMANS 12:1,2,9–13

Abigail’s doctor gave her the scary news. The surgery removed most of the brain cancer, but it would return, and she would die within two years. Abigail and her husband had a newborn to raise, so they turned to God and His Word. Each day they spoke the truths that God had given them and refused to let their minds listen to the message of the world. Abigail believed that God’s will for her is to raise her boy to know his mom and Jesus. Her son just turned five, and Abigail is doing well.

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will (Romans 12:2).

Sometimes it’s hard to not listen to the beliefs and pattern of the world. But as a believer chooses to follow God’s pattern for life, he or she processes things in a new, transformed way. As the mind is renewed through hearing God’s Word and listening to His Holy Spirit, God’s will becomes more obvious. Regardless of the what others say, you can trust that the will of God will overcome.

Challenge for Today: Pray for God’s will to become clear for someone in your life who needs wisdom.
