READ 1 KINGS 9:1 THROUGH 11:43
When the queen of Sheba heard about the fame of Solomon and his relationship to the Lord, she came to test Solomon with hard questions (1 Kings 10:1).
The fame of Solomon’s wisdom and wealth spread to all areas of his world. His fame and fortune are still referenced today by scholars and historians alike. The queen of Sheba was so curious about his notoriety that she came to verify his wisdom in person. She was curious not only about his incredible feats, but she specifically noted his relationship to the Lord. It was such a powerful relationship that she had to come and see it for herself.
Solomon’s example here is fitting for all followers of God. Though most believers may not engage in world-renowned building projects or be noted among the wisest people on the earth, it is God’s desire that His children be noted as distinct because of their relationship with Him. Christians’ lives become the window through which God’s glory is seen by others.
Prayer:
Father God, make me known as a person who has a strong relationship with You.
